TEAM ROSTERS FOR TEAM DIVISIONS:

Please read this section carefully regarding our policy and procedure for completing your team rosters and waivers online using RaceReach. If you are signing up for a solo event, your roster is complete after you have paid and completed your registration form.  For teams, the captain must complete registration and pay, at that time they will receive a TEAM CODE that they will need to forward to all members of their team.  A team member will use that code to register, you will not have to pay a fee.  As your team members fill out their registrations a team roster will be formed. Team rosters MUST be completed online using the RaceReach by 6pm on Wednesday, July 5th.  Rosters will be frozen at this time. Failure to meet the team roster deadline will result in your team being pulled from the competition with no refund. By registering for this event, all teams agree to follow the Roster & Waiver submission policies and procedures.

COMPETITION FORMAT:

Adventure Racing is like an off-road triathlon with paddling instead of swimming. But the biggest difference is you will NAVIGATE to various checkpoints using a topographic map! It's like a giant scavenger hunt! These races can be done solo or as a team (the sport’s officially recognized elite division of adventure racing is 3-4 person Co-Ed teams), AND that the race involves strategy, navigation and possible surprise challenges (like the Amazing Race). Racers can expect to bike approx 15 miles(gravel/asphalt),3 miles canoe, and 5 miles run or trek (walk) to about 15 checkpoints using team strategy to complete all or most of them before the race clock stops. All teams will start and finish the race together (not a relay). All teams must have at least one adult (18 and over), not recommended for children under 12 yrs old (contact commissioner). Gold, Silver and Bronze medals awarded to the top three teams in each  division. Trophy awarded to the first place team in each division.

THE COURSE:

The course will remain a secret until participant check-in, when all teams receive their maps and check-point sheet with information.  The course is a 6 hour race.   Mountain biking will have gravel and paved roads.  Paddling will be in Perry Lake. On foot sections will include trails, woods, thick brush.  Teams should come prepared to complete the following disciplines (as a team): Paddling up to 3 miles, Mountain Biking up to 15 miles and Trail Running or trekking up to 5 miles. Please direct all questions regarding the event to the Sport Commissioner.
